Creach Bheinn

Creach Bheign is a mountain in the Grampian range of Scotland. It stands above the head of Loch Creran in Argyll and Bute. The peak spreads widely across the landscape, with a bulldozed track cutting up to the ridge from the loch. Near the top the slope steepens sharply. From the summit walkers can see Lismore and Mull islands. Glen Coe’s mountains also appear on the horizon. The walk rewards effort with wide views. The islands of Lismore and Mull lie clearly in sight. Glen Coe’s ridges frame the scene to the east. Taynuilt village sits to the south below the slopes. The track itself is broad and easy to follow at first. Only the final section demands careful footing. The ridge offers space to pause and look around. The bulldozed path guides climbers upwards without route-finding. The summit area is broad enough for several people to stand together. Wind can freshen quickly at this height. The islands and glen remain visible long after the descent begins.
