The Islamic College

The Islamic College stands in the London Borough of Brent. It is an academic institution specialising in Islamic Studies at graduate and undergraduate levels. Until March 2023 its degrees were validated by Middlesex University. The college also publishes academic texts and a quarterly journal. In 2014 the Hawza Ilmiyya of England, an Islamic seminary, began operating from the same site. The college is worth the journey for those interested in Islamic scholarship. It offers two undergraduate programmes: BA Islamic Studies and BA Hawza Studies. The MA degrees include Islamic Studies, Islamic Law, and Islam and the West. Distance education is available for several programmes. Certificate courses cover subjects such as Qur'anic Arabic, Persian, and Islamic Banking. A visitor finds ICAS Press housed within the college. ICAS Press publishes classical and modern Islamic texts and translations. It produces the Journal of Shi'a Islamic Studies quarterly. The Hawza Ilmiyya of England runs a seminary at the same location. The college provides a focused environment for studying Islam’s intellectual traditions.
