Raiffeisen Arena

Raiffeisen Arena stands in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, replacing the old Linzer Stadion that once occupied the site. Built in 1952 and demolished in 2021, the new stadium opened in 2023 with 19,080 seats in total. Of these, 17,117 are available for international matches, while the rest include standing, seated and box seats. The complex cost 65 million euros for the stadium alone, rising to 85 million euros when training grounds, offices and a daytime restaurant are included. Next to it lies the TipsArena Linz, a multipurpose arena with a six-lane synthetic track and seating for up to 8,755 spectators. The stadium is known as Oberösterreich Arena in European competitions because of advertising rules. Its first football match took place on 17 February 2023 when the LASK women’s team beat SPG Geretsberg/Bürmoos 4–1 in a test game. Katharina Mayr, the team captain, scored the first goal in the new arena. The men’s first game followed on 24 February when LASK defeated SC Austria Lustenau 1–0 in front of 12,000 spectators. Visitors find a modern football stadium with tiered seating arranged close to the pitch. The synthetic track and seating of the adjacent TipsArena can be seen beyond the stands. Inside, the stadium has box seats and hospitality areas alongside standard seating. The daytime restaurant and training grounds sit alongside the main structure. The site sits in a city area with good transport links, making it easy to reach.
