Meallan Buidhe

Meallan Buidhe is a Graham Top of Munro in the Fannich mountains of the Scottish Highlands. It stands in the north-western part of the range, a grassy dome above the glens. The summit bears the name ‘yellow lump’, marking its modest height and pale lichen. The peak is one of many listed in the Database of British and Irish Hills. Hillwalkers and surveyors use this resource to track and verify every Graham Top of Munro. The Fannichs themselves form part of the wider chain of peaks that stretch across the Highlands. On the summit a simple cairn marks the highest point. The view opens north to Ben Wyvis and south to the Cromarty Firth. The slopes drop steeply into surrounding corries where water gathers in small lochans. Paths from Loch Glascarnoch and Loch a’ Bhathaich lead walkers to the ridge.
