Binnein Beag

Binnein Beag is a Scottish mountain at the eastern end of the Mamores range, seven kilometres north north-east of Kinlochleven. It is a small, conical peak connected to the larger Binnein Mòr by a bealach at 750 metres. Despite its modest size it is listed as a Munro with a height of 943 metres. Walkers often climb it from Kinlochleven together with Binnein Mòr. The summit offers wide views across the Highlands. Binnein Beag is worth the journey for those who enjoy mountain walking in the Highlands. It stands among the Mamores, a ridge of thirteen Munros that attract walkers from across Britain. The route from Kinlochleven follows well-trodden paths up through the glen. The connection to Binnein Mòr allows a longer ridge walk for those who wish. The views from the top include Ben Alder to the east and the Grey Corries to the north. Visitors find a clear path leading up the northern slopes of Binnein Beag. The final climb to the summit is straightforward though steep in places. The summit itself is narrow and rocky, with space for a few walkers to stand together. To the south-west the bulk of Binnein Mòr dominates the skyline. On clear days the panorama stretches to Ben Nevis and beyond. The descent follows the same route back to Kinlochleven through the glen.
