Aonach Buidhe

Aonach Buidhe is a mountain summit in the Highlands of Scotland, reached along the route from Killilan to Inverness. Its grid reference is NH057324, and a small cairn marks the top. The hill stands 616 metres above sea level, making it a Marilyn, a Corbett and a HuMP. It belongs to the lists that Scottish societies keep of hills over 610 metres and of all 3 000-foot peaks called Munros. These organisations measure, check and collect the data, publishing it on the Database of British and Irish Hills. On the summit a visitor finds an open plateau with wide views across Glen Affric and towards the distant peaks of Kintail. The air is clear and the silence broken only by the wind. A stone wind shelter stands near the cairn, offering a brief respite from the weather.
