Vorderer Tajakopf

The Vorderer Tajakopf is a 2,450-metre mountain in the Mieming Chain of the Austrian Alps. It stands near the Coburger Hut, which sits at 1,917 metres and serves as the usual starting point for climbers. Two main routes lead to the summit: the normal path via the Vorderes Tajatörl and the south arête, and a more recent klettersteig along the west arête, opened in 2000. The neighbouring Hinterer Tajakopf, slightly lower at 2,408 metres, can be reached from the same pass or via the Hinterer Tajatörl. The area is part of the Mieminger Chain, a range known for its rugged terrain and alpine scenery. The mountain attracts climbers for its challenging routes and rewarding views. The klettersteig on the west arête is a popular choice for experienced hikers seeking a technical ascent. The normal route offers a longer but less demanding alternative, passing through scenic high alpine landscapes.
