Beinn Liath Mhòr a' Ghiubhais Lì

Beinn Liath Mhòr a’ Ghiubhais Lì is a mountain top in the Fannichs range, part of the Northwest Highlands in Scotland. It stands at grid reference NH271704, rising above the surrounding moorland and lochans. The Fannichs form a compact group of peaks, with this one reaching a modest but noticeable height. The peak is classified as a Marilyn, Corbett and HuMP, categories that recognise its height and prominence. Marilyns measure at least 150 metres of prominence, while Corbetts are defined as Scottish peaks between 2,500 and 3,000 feet. HuMPs require a minimum of 100 metres of prominence, showing how this summit meets several hillwalking standards. From the summit, walkers see the wide moorland below and distant ridges of the Highlands. The path climbs through heather and rough grass, often wet underfoot, before reaching the broad plateau near the top. On clear days, views stretch to Ben Wyvis and the Cromarty Firth. The mountain’s Gaelic name reflects its place in local tradition, linking it to the wider landscape of the Northwest Highlands.
