Beinn nan Caorach

Beinn nan Caorach stands on the route from Glen Shiel to Loch Hourn and Loch Quoich in the Scottish Highlands. The mountain reaches its summit at grid reference NG871121 and bears a small cairn at the top. It belongs to the list of Scottish peaks classified by height and prominence, where it is recognised as a Marilyn, a Corbett and a HuMP. The peak attracts hill-walkers who measure, verify and collect data for the Database of British and Irish Hills. Its height was last re-surveyed on 28 October 2001, confirming its place among notable upland summits. Visitors reach the mountain along paths that cross wild glens and loch shores. The final climb leads over open moorland to the cairn, where wide views open across Knoydart and Kintail. On clear days Ben Nevis and the Five Sisters of Kintail appear in the distance.
