Beinn a' Chapuill

Beinn a’ Chapuill is a mountain in the Highlands of Scotland. It stands on the route from Glen Shiel to Loch Hourn and Loch Quoich. The summit carries a large cairn built by walkers. The mountain reaches 835 metres above sea level. It is listed as a Marilyn, a Graham and a HuMP in Scottish hill classifications. The hill is recognised for its height and prominence. Several hill-climbing groups maintain these lists on the Database of British and Irish Hills. The last precise measurement was taken in October 2001. It forms part of the wider Kintail range near the west coast. A walker reaches the top by following paths from Glen Shiel. The view from the summit looks across to Glen Shiel and down to Loch Hourn. The surrounding glens and lochs stretch away in all directions. The cairn marks the highest point for those who complete the climb.
