Undy Athletic A.F.C.

Undy Athletic A.F.C. is a football club in the village of Undy, Monmouthshire. The club runs a senior men’s team in the Ardal SE League, a senior women’s team in the South Wales Women & Girls League Division Two, plus reserve and third teams for men. Youth and junior sections offer mixed and girls’ football, and the club provides FAW Huddle sessions and disability football. The ground is on playing fields managed by the club since the 1980s. The club was formed in 1947, won the Argus Cup three times, and folded in 1962. Reformed as Undy United in 1970, it became Undy A.F.C. in the mid-1980s and adopted red colours in the 1990s. In 2011 it won the Gwent County League Division One, reached the Welsh Football League in 2012, and earned promotion to Division One in 2016 under manager Laurence Owen. The club finished seventh in its first season at that level and signed Gibraltar international Jamie Coombes in 2017. Visitors find a clubhouse and pitches on the playing fields in Undy. The senior men’s and women’s teams play league matches there, while junior teams train and compete. The site hosts Huddle and disability sessions open to the local community. Match days bring supporters to the ground, and the club’s red kit is a familiar sight on the fields.
