Michalský výpad
The Michalský výpad is a sally gate in the fortifications of Olomouc. Openings of this kind allowed the garrison to slip out of the protected town into the open ground beyond, in order to surprise besiegers and withdraw again quickly. The name refers to Saint Michael. The structure is one of the surviving traces of the fortress ring that once completely enclosed the old town and is now visible only in scattered sections.
