Carnedd gron Ynys Tudor

Carnedd gron Ynys Tudor stands on a low ridge near the village of Llangynfelyn in Ceredigion. It is a round cairn built towards the end of the Stone Age and the start of the Bronze Age. The site is marked on maps at grid reference SN669928. Its purpose was probably part of burial rituals and religious ceremonies. Cadw recognises it as a scheduled ancient monument with the number CD130. The builders also raised chambered tombs, round barrows, stone circles, hill forts, Irish huts and standing stones across the landscape. These remains show how widely Neolithic and Bronze Age communities spread their traditions. The cairn itself is small but sits within a wider pattern of similar sites. Visitors reach the ridge by quiet lanes and footpaths. The view stretches over the Dyfi estuary and the hills beyond. The grassy mound is unmarked except for a few scattered stones. It is a place where the past feels close but undisturbed.
