FlyDSA Arena

Sheffield’s FlyDSA Arena stands between the city centre and Rotherham, close to Meadowhall. Built in 1991 and opened by Queen Elizabeth II, the venue hosts concerts, sports and shows. Around fourteen million people have attended events here since it opened. The arena has set ticket records for major acts. Arctic Monkeys sold out 13,600 tickets in one day, while Westlife played thirty-two shows. Comedy stars like Russell Brand and Peter Kay have filled the hall for multiple nights. The Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team also plays here, drawing crowds of more than ten thousand for big matches. Inside, the arena seats up to thirteen thousand six hundred for concerts. Outside, the car park once became a drive-through blood-testing site during the pandemic. Now visitors come for music, comedy, ice hockey and touring shows like Disney On Ice.
