The Wasserturm stands in Hohen Neuendorf, a town in Brandenburg’s Oberhavel district. It is a protected concrete structure built between 1912 and 1914 to the designs of architect Albert Gottheiner in a neo-Baroque style. The tower rises 40.7 metres above the street, its walls narrowing from 13 metres at the base to 8.5 metres at mid-height. Two nested ring tanks once held 250 cubic metres of water, encircled by an octagonal façade. The foundations reach five metres into the ground.

The tower is no longer used for water storage but remains a landmark above the church. In 2003 its dome threatened to collapse, so Sellke und Partner carried out repairs and reconstruction, finishing the work in 2004. Although the interior is closed to the public, the building occasionally hosts cultural events, such as the centenary celebration in June 2014 organised by the local volunteer fire brigade. Nearby, a 1920s veterans’ housing estate and a late-20th-century care home bear its name.

From the street the tower’s slender silhouette dominates the skyline. Its octagonal shape and gently tapering walls give it a quiet presence among modern buildings. The surrounding area includes quiet residential streets and a small green space where visitors can walk and look up at the structure. The care home and estate remind passers-by of the tower’s long connection with the community.
