The Schleinitz is a mountain in the southern Schobergruppe of East Tirol. It rises to 2904 metres above sea level and towers over the Lienzer Becken. A long ridge runs north-west from the summit towards the Alkuser Rotspitze and the Hochschober. On the south-east side lies the Schleinitzmulde, a broad hollow containing the Neualplseen at 2438 metres.

The first recorded ascent was made on 3 August 1798 by the Regensburg botanist David Heinrich Hoppe and a local guide. They published a short account the following year. Walkers usually start from the Zettersfeld, which is easily reached from Lienz by cable car. The route crosses alpine meadows and gentle slopes before tackling steep, loose rock fields to reach the summit at 2904 metres.

At the top stands a metal cross about 120 metres south-west of the highest point. A via ferrata continues along the ridge to the Sattelköpfe. From the summit there are wide views across the valley floor and the Lienzer Dolomites, locally nicknamed the Lienzer Unholde.
