The Lahnerkopf is a mountain summit in the Mangfall range of Lower Austria. It stands at the eastern end of a ridge that stretches for about a kilometre from Lahnereck and Lahnerkopf down to the Valeppalm, which lies roughly 600 metres lower. The ridge slopes gently northward to the Lahneralm, where a small lake called Höllache sits without any outlet. Dense patches of mountain pines cover most of the ridge, making it difficult to walk across.

Despite the rough terrain, the Lahnerkopf attracts few visitors because of its lack of marked paths. The only clear landmark is a decaying summit cross with a visitors’ book attached. The cross marks the highest point of the ridge, offering no shelter or facilities nearby.

From the top, the view stretches across the surrounding peaks of the Mangfallgebirge. The contrast between the wooded slopes and the open alpine meadows below is striking. The silence is broken only by the wind and the occasional call of a bird. The ridge’s isolation adds to the sense of remoteness, making it a quiet spot for those who reach it.
