Kiffing
The Kiffing is a small range of hills in northern Hesse, reaching up to 344.1 m at the Heuberg. It lies between the Solling and Bramwald uplands, near the Weser and Schwülme rivers. Wahlsburg, Uslar and Oberweser border the hills on three sides. The area is mostly covered by woodland, with open land only on its western and northeastern edges.
The hills shelter quiet valleys like Pfeiffengrund and Köhlergrund. Above these valleys stand the Lippoldsberg Clinic and the small Steinklippen rock formation. A rifle range sits at the Sattel in the east. Several streams flow down from the hills, including the Föhrenbach and Höllengraben, both tributaries of the Weser.
Nearby villages include Lippoldsberg, Vernawahlshausen and Oedelsheim. The Weser winds past the western edge, while the Schwülme runs along the northeast. Walkers can follow forest paths that link these villages and valleys, with views over the surrounding countryside.
