The Kapf is a 1,159-metre-high subsidiary peak of the Wieskopf in the Bregenzerwald range. It stands near the town of Hohenems in Vorarlberg. The summit cross sits just west of the true summit at 1,153 metres. From there, walkers look out over the broad Rheintal valley and the Bodensee. The slopes of the Kapf are covered in woodland.

The Kapf belongs to the Hohe Kugel – Hoher Freschen – Mellental nature reserve. Its protected status keeps the forest undisturbed and the air clean. The contrast between the quiet woods and the distant views makes the spot special. The trail to the cross is short but steep, rewarding climbers with a quiet place to pause. The reserve also shelters rare plants and animals on its lower slopes.

Visitors find a simple wooden cross standing on open ground beside the forest edge. The ground is firm underfoot, so the last metres can be climbed easily. From the cross there is a clear view eastwards across the valley to the lake. On clear days the Alps appear on the horizon. The woodland around the peak remains dense, giving the summit a secluded feel.
