Goffeck
Goffeck is a mountain peak in Upper Austria, part of the Höllengebirge range. It stands 1,101 metres above sea level, rising 67 metres above the surrounding terrain. The base of the mountain is 0.86 kilometres wide. The land around Goffeck slopes steeply to the north-east but is more gently rolling to the south-west. The nearest town, Bad Ischl, lies 7.1 kilometres away.
The mountain is surrounded by mixed woodland, typical of the region’s central Alpine belt. The area has a moderate population density, with about 65 people living in each square kilometre. The landscape offers clear contrasts between dense forest and open slopes.
Visitors find open paths leading up the lower slopes, where views open over the Salzkammergut valleys. The mountain’s modest height makes it accessible to walkers without specialist equipment. From the summit ridge, the outlook stretches across the Gmunden district and beyond. The contrast between the forested lower slopes and the rocky upper sections adds to the appeal.
