Anglesey Circuit

The Anglesey Circuit lies on the Isle of Anglesey off north Wales, built on land once used by the British Army and the RAF. It hosts car and motorcycle races, sprints, rallies and drifting events. The circuit opened in 1997 after the Wirral 100 club proposed racing on the decommissioned site. Its 2006 redevelopment created four track layouts: the 3.380-kilometre International Circuit, the 2.494-kilometre Coastal Circuit, the 1.931-kilometre National Circuit and the 1.287-kilometre Club Circuit. Welsh F1 driver Tom Pryce is commemorated with a straight named after him and an annual memorial trophy. Motorcycle racer Peter Williams called it the most scenic circuit in the UK in 2006. Visitors find wide tarmac straights and sweeping bends framed by Anglesey’s coastal scenery. The International Circuit is the longest and fastest, while the Club Circuit suits smaller events. The venue also serves as a filming location for television programmes and children’s series.
