Hofmann Personal Stadion

The Hofmann Personal Stadion is a football stadium in Linz’s Kaplanhof district, standing at the north-eastern tip of the southern Danube promenade in Donaupark. It replaces the former Donauparkstadion on the same site and has been home to FC Blau-Weiß Linz since July 2023. The stadium’s design was created by Margula & Mauch Architects, while Granit GmbH from Graz handled the construction as total contractor. The playing field now runs north–south, parallel to the new railway bridge above the storage hall beneath. The project also includes a large furniture store operated by XXXLutz. The stadium cost almost €30 million, making it the most expensive per seat in Austria at nearly €6,000 per place. The city of Linz contributed up to €3 million, but costs rose from an initial €9 million to €27 million before the final figure reached €29.85 million. The opening ceremony took place on 5 July 2023, followed ten days later by the first match against PSV Eindhoven. Besides the first men’s team, the U20, U21 and women’s teams play their home games here. Visitors reach the stadium via the Mühlkreis Autobahn and Hafenstraße or by Linz Linien trams 12 and 25 at Donauparkstadion stop. A second stop, Petzoldstraße, is served by line 27. The nearby railway bridge carries no trains or trams despite its name. The arena seats 5,000 spectators and sits within Donaupark, a green space along the Danube.
