Queensbury tube station

Queensbury is a London Underground station in north-west London. It stands on the Jubilee line between Canons Park and Kingsbury stations. The station opened in 1934 on the Stanmore branch of the Metropolitan line. In 1939 it transferred to the Bakerloo line and in 1979 to the Jubilee line. The name Queensbury was invented when the station was built and did not refer to any existing place. The station is in London fare zone 4. It is also served by several bus routes, including London Buses routes 79, 114, 288 and 324. Night route N98 and non-TfL routes 614 and 644 also stop there. The Hive Stadium, home of Barnet FC, lies 400 metres north along the railway tracks. Canons Park station shares this role. The station and its surroundings appear in a song by The Magoo Brothers. The Berlin-based punk-jazz band released ‘Queensbury Station’ on their 1988 album Beyond Believable. The song was written by Paul Bonin and Melanie Hickford, who grew up in the area. The station remains a quiet local landmark in an otherwise busy part of London.
