Burg Heudorf im Hegau stands in the village of Heudorf, part of Eigeltingen in the Landkreis Konstanz. Once a medieval stronghold, only fragments remain beneath the modern street Am Plätzle. Three-metre-thick masonry uncovered during roadworks points to a 13th-century castle. The lords of Heudorf, first recorded in 1261, likely owned the fortress. Their name lives on in the nearby Burgstraße, reinforcing the identification. Beyond these clues, no further records or details survive to describe its halls or towers. Visitors today walk over the buried foundations without realising it. The only visible trace is the thick wall under the tarmac. The surrounding village offers quiet lanes and views across the Hegau landscape.
