Pfarrkirche hl. Kunigunde, Kirchberg bei Mattighofen

The parish church of Kirchberg bei Mattighofen stands in the village of Siegertshaft within the municipality of Kirchberg bei Mattighofen in Upper Austria. It is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Cunigunde and belongs to the Mattighofen deanery in the Diocese of Linz. The church and its adjoining cemetery are protected as historic monuments. The church dates back to 1143, when it was first recorded. Originally Gothic in style, its interior was later transformed in the Baroque manner. The single-nave nave has three bays, and the equally wide two-bay choir ends in a three-sided apse. The Gothic ribs of the vaulting were removed, and in 1740 Johann Michael Vierthaler adorned the vaults with elaborate stucco work. In 1952, Fr. Thaler added frescoes to the vaults. The west tower contains a net-ribbed vault in its ground floor and is capped by an onion dome added in 1813. Inside, the high altar from 1660–70 features statues and paintings by Franz Streussenberger, who worked in 1860. The organ, built in 1894 by Albert Mauracher of Salzburg-Mülln, has two manuals and ten speaking stops. The south portal retains its Gothic ribbed vaulted porch, and both the south door and the sacristy door display original Gothic fittings.
