Bayview Stadium

Bayview Stadium stands in Methil, a town in Fife beside the River Leven. The single covered stand runs along one side of the pitch and holds 1,980 seats. Open areas remain for future expansion. Plans once aimed to add a covered terrace at the sea end, but the 2008 financial crisis halted the work. In 2013 the capacity was temporarily raised to 4,700 for a match against Rangers. The stadium sits near the river mouth at Harbour View. East Fife Football Club has played here since 1998, after leaving the old Bayview Park. The club’s first ground opened in 1891 and hosted Scottish Football League matches in the early 20th century. East Fife won the Scottish Cup in 1938 and the League Cup in 1950, trophies still celebrated at the club. The new stadium brought modern facilities to a historic club. Visitors find a compact ground with a single main stand overlooking the pitch. The 3G artificial surface was installed in 2017, replacing the original grass. Seats face the playing area while open space behind offers room for growth. The site overlooks the water near the river mouth, giving views across the Firth of Forth. The atmosphere is modest but lively on match days.
