Lohbrügge
Lohbrügge is a quarter in the Bergedorf borough of Hamburg, northern Germany. It covers 13 square kilometres and borders Billwerder to the west, Billstedt to the north and Bergedorf to the south. Schleswig-Holstein lies to the east and north. The Boberger dune, a landscape conservation area, lies within Lohbrügge. The quarter has a population of around forty thousand. Nearly one in four residents is aged sixty-five or over, while one in six is under eighteen. About ten per cent of the population are immigrants. There are four elementary schools and six secondary schools in the area. The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences has a campus here. A general hospital with 470 beds stands on Bergedorfer Strasse. It treats heavy-burn injuries and operates an emergency rescue helicopter. Public transport includes city train lines S2 and S21 at Bergedorf station. The quarter is also served by buses and lies near the A1 and A25 motorways. The Arboretum Lohbrügge is a point of interest.
