Parish church Riedberg

The Pfarrkirche Riedberg stands in Ried im Innkreis, a town in Upper Austria. It is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, part of the Diocese of Linz. The building was constructed in 1955 and 1956 under the direction of local builder Paul Fellner. The church’s history reflects post-war growth and religious change. After the Second World War, the Riedberg settlement expanded and the Tirolese Capuchins sought a new parish. Bishop Franz Zauner laid the foundation stone in November 1955 and consecrated the church the following September. In 1986 the Oblates of St Francis de Sales took over the parish, and a major renovation took place in 1999. Inside, visitors find artworks transferred from the older parish church in Ried. Six bronze reliefs for the Stations of the Cross were made by Peter Dimmel in 1985. The organ, with nineteen stops, was built by Pirchner in 1969. Apostle paintings by Franz Paul Lofferer, dating from 1795, line the walls. The simple modern structure sits on the Riederberg, offering a quiet place for reflection.
