Segenbaumkogel

The Segenbaumkogel is a mountain peak in Upper Austria, part of the Höllengebirge range. It stands 1 779 metres above sea level, rising 130 metres above the surrounding terrain. The base is 0.95 kilometres wide, and the slopes are steepest to the southwest. Ebensee, the nearest town, lies 9.5 kilometres to the east. The mountain is surrounded by mixed woodland typical of the region. The landscape is rugged, with narrow ridges and rocky outcrops. Despite its height, the area is lightly settled, with only 65 people per square kilometre. Paths lead up the lower slopes through dense forest before opening onto open rock and grass. The summit offers wide views over the lakes and valleys of Upper Austria. On clear days the Alps can be seen to the south.
