Pfarrkirche hl. Johannes der Täufer, Radlbrunn

The Catholic parish church of Saint John the Baptist stands in Radlbrunn, a village in the Ziersdorf market town of Hollabrunn district, Lower Austria. It belongs to the Schmidatal deanery under the Vikariat Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna. The church is listed as a protected monument. The parish was placed under Stift Lilienfeld when founded in 1783. The tower retains slit windows from its Gothic core. The present building likely dates from the 17th century, with later renovations in 1754, 1763 and 1816. Cistercian monks from Stift Lilienfeld still care for the parish. Inside, a four-bay nave and a single-bay chancel with an apse are covered by barrel vaults with lunettes. The west gallery rests on 18th-century pillar arcades. The high altar of 1888 shows a classical aedicula and a painting of the Baptism of Christ flanked by statues of Saints Peter and Paul. The 17th-century font has a fluted bowl on a baluster stem. Late 18th-century Stations of the Cross follow the style of Martin Johann Schmidt.
