Beinn Mholach

Beinn Mholach is a mountain summit in the Grampians of Perth and Kinross, standing between Loch Ericht and Glen Garry. Its summit carries a large stone cairn, built by walkers over the years. The hill is listed as a Marilyn, a Corbett and a HuMP, terms used by hillwalkers to classify peaks by height and prominence. The hill’s height was last remeasured on 15 January 2003. Organisations such as the Database of British and Irish Hills keep the official lists up to date. Each name on the hill is checked to see if it has a Gaelic origin, and local knowledge is welcomed. From the top there are wide views across the surrounding glens and loch. The slopes are grassy and gentle, making the climb straightforward for most walkers. The area is quiet and remote, with few other people on the hill.
