Celtic Park

Celtic Park stands in Derry, Northern Ireland, as the main GAA stadium for hurling and Gaelic football. It replaced Dean McGlinchey Park in Ballinascreen during the 1990s as Derry’s primary venue. The ground also hosts club finals and inter-county matches. Derry City once played League of Ireland games here while their own pitch was being upgraded. In 2026 it gained a naming sponsor, Find Insurance, after years as an unbranded GAA ground. The stadium’s history goes back to 1900, when it served association football as the home of Derry Celtic. The Derry County Board bought the ground in the 1940s after Derry City chose not to. Floodlights were added in 2008, first used for a National League match against Mayo. A £1.8 million redevelopment added a 3,600-seat stand and improved facilities. Visitors find a modern stadium with improved disabled access and extra exit gates. The new stand includes a control room, TV gantry, media room and stewards’ room. Improved toilet facilities and better sightlines make it one of Ulster’s top grounds. The Lone Moor Road side now holds 3,600 seated spectators. The revamp was finished in time for the 2009 Ulster Senior Football Championship.
