It includes Britain’s first wildlife overbridge near Lamberhurst, built to help animals cross safely. The road is also famous for the Maydayrun, where thousands of motorcyclists ride from London to Hastings each year. Over time, sections have been upgraded to dual carriageways to ease congestion. A drive along the A21 offers views of rolling hills, woodlands, and historic villages. Near Scotney Castle, a green land bridge lets wildlife move freely across the road. The route passes through quiet valleys and around narrow lanes in places like Salehurst and Robertsbridge. For motorcyclists, the journey ends at Hastings seafront, where the annual gathering draws large crowds.
