Hubertsberg lighthouse
The Leuchtfeuer Hubertsberg stands on Marine land east of Hubertsberg village in the Plön district, overlooking the Kiel Bay. Its white round tower carries a red lantern with a flat roof, serving as a warning light for naval firing exercises. Between Todendorf and Putlos, the tower flashes yellow or red signals to alert shipping in the firing areas. This warning tower is one of six in a chain along the coast, stretching from west to east. The group includes Heidkate, Hubertsberg, Neuland lighthouse, Wessek, Blankeck and Heiligenhafen, each marking safe limits for military activity. The towers form a clear line of guidance for vessels navigating these waters. Visitors find a simple white cylinder topped by a red lantern, set on open ground with distant views of the bay. The site lies within a restricted zone, so only the exterior can be seen from outside the fence. Nearby, the Baltic shore stretches away under wide skies, with the naval presence adding a sense of order to the scene.
