Trefelin BGC

Trefelin Boys & Girls Club is a football club based in Port Talbot, south Wales. The club plays its home matches at Ynys Park, a ground near the town centre. Founded in 1984, it started on a local park before moving to Ynys Park after local fundraising. The men’s first team now plays in the Cymru Premier, the top tier of Welsh football. The club has a strong history of promotions and cup wins. In 2000 it won the FAW Trophy by beating Bryntirion Athletic 6–2 in the final. In 2007 it finished as runners-up in the South Wales Amateur League First Division. More recently, in 2019–20 it became Welsh Football League Division One champions without losing a league match. Lee Trundle, a former Swansea City striker, joined the club in January 2019. Visitors to Ynys Park find a modern football ground with seating and facilities for players and supporters. The pitch sits in a quiet part of Port Talbot, close to the town’s shops and transport links. On match days the ground comes alive with local fans and visiting supporters. The club’s history is visible in the trophies and photographs displayed around the clubhouse.
