Forthbank Stadium

Forthbank Stadium stands on the edge of Stirling, a town in central Scotland. Built in 1992 and opened the next year, it replaced the older Annfield ground. Stirling Albion, the local professional club, moved in and has played there ever since. Since 2013 the stadium has also hosted University of Stirling’s first team in the Lowland League. The pitch measures 110 by 74 yards and the ground holds 3,808 spectators. The stadium’s design includes four distinct areas. The West stand is the main seated section for home fans and contains club offices and hospitality suites. The East stand is set aside for visiting supporters and houses the press room, police control room and detention facilities. Behind each goal are terraces added in the mid-1990s, each holding about 300 extra fans. The South terrace is for home supporters while the North terrace is for away fans. For three years the ground bore the name Doubletree Dunblane Stadium under a sponsorship deal. Around the stadium new sports and leisure facilities have been built. A new high school, St Modan’s, now stands close by. Stirling railway station lies about 1.5 miles away, and the A91 road runs nearby with access from the M80 motorway. A retail area borders the ground on one side.
