Meallan Liath Coire Mhic Dhùghaill

Meallan Liath Coire Mhic Dhùghaill is a mountain summit in the Scottish Highlands. It lies along the route from Durness to Loch Shin at grid reference NC357391. The mountain is classified as a Marilyn, Corbett and HuMP, terms used by hillwalkers to describe its height and prominence. The name comes from Gaelic and means ‘the grey hill of the corrie of MacDougall’s son’. It is one of many hills in Scotland measured and verified by hill societies. Their records are kept on the Database of British and Irish Hills. A trig point stands in a small windshelter on the summit plateau. The view stretches over the surrounding moorland and distant lochs. The terrain is rough and boggy in places, typical of the Flow Country. Walkers often combine the ascent with nearby peaks such as Ben Loyal or Ben Klibreck.
