Sukkat Shalom Reform Synagogue

Sukkat Shalom Reform Synagogue stands in Wanstead, part of the London Borough of Redbridge. It is a Reform Jewish congregation housed in the former chapel of Wanstead Hospital. The building once served as the Merchant Seamen’s Orphan Asylum before becoming a Grade II* listed site in 1979. The synagogue moved to this location in 1995 after renovations. The synagogue began in 1981 as the Epping Forest & District Reform Synagogue. It changed names twice before settling on Sukkat Shalom in 1996.
