Höferspitze

The Höferspitze is a subsidiary summit of the Heiterberg in the Allgäuer Alps, standing at 2,131 metres above sea level. It rises above the Kleinwalsertal valley, framed by the Baader Bergumrahmung ridge which borders the village of Baad to the west. To the north-west lies the Weiße Schrofen, another subsidiary peak of the Heiterberg, followed by the Heiterberg summit itself. The Hochalppass pass sits to the north-east, linking high valleys. The climb offers two main routes. One begins at Neßlegg and follows a well-marked hiking trail to the top. The other starts from the Hochtannbergpass or Hochkrumbach and takes a marked alpine path along the East Ridge, a route reserved for experienced climbers. The contrast between the gentle Neßlegg approach and the exposed East Ridge tests different skills. At the summit, walkers are rewarded with wide views across the Allgäuer Alps and down into the Kleinwalsertal. The ridge walk to the Weiße Schrofen provides extra vantage points without adding much distance. The Hochalppass below offers a quieter route for those who prefer a gentler ascent.
