Christuskirche Bad Vöslau

The Christuskirche stands in the spa town of Bad Vöslau in Lower Austria. Built as a steel-reinforced concrete hall church, it has a shallow pitched roof and a side tower. The building is protected as a national monument. The present church dates from 1966, designed by Herbert Fritscher-Notthaft. Two windows from the 1876 prayer house were reused in the sacristy. The altar wall holds a sculpture of the blessing Christ by Mathias Hietz. The Walcker-Mayer organ was installed in 1972 with two manuals and three couplers. Inside, a glass wall lights the sanctuary while a band of windows runs along the nave. The entrance gable also features concrete tracery. The church forms part of the town’s Protestant parish centre and remains an active place of worship.
