Cafe Thermalbad, Bad Vöslau

The Villa Pereira-Arnstein is a protected Biedermeier villa in Bad Vöslau, Lower Austria. Built around 1830, it stands as a single-storey building with a square floor plan. The villa originally sat on a rustic stone base and once had a café and thermal bath with a surrounding terrace. Its design includes three-axis central projections on the north and east sides, a continuous eaves cornice, and a smooth attic. The arched windows and doors, adorned with terracotta decorations from the late 19th century, add to its historic charm. The villa is linked to architect Joseph Kornhäusel, though its exact attribution remains debated. A two-storey service building from an earlier period stands to the south, connected to the villa by an arched passage. A large plane tree on the grounds is protected as a natural monument. The property has undergone changes over time, including a building ban in 2016 and a conversion since 2017. Now owned by Vöslauer Mineralwasser AG, the villa and its service building are being restored according to heritage guidelines. Plans include an extension to serve as the company’s new headquarters. The site blends historic architecture with natural features, offering a quiet retreat in the town centre. Its transformation reflects both preservation and modern adaptation.
