Burg Riedbach
The Burg Riedbach stands on a low mound west of Riedbacher Strasse in the village of Riedbach, itself part of Schrozberg in the Schwäbisch Hall district. Built in the 13th century, it was first recorded in 1344 and levelled in the 15th century. The lords of Seinsheim and the lords of Seldeneck once held the site. Only grass-covered banks and shallow ditches mark where the tower once rose. Archaeologists have traced the outline of the motte and its surrounding defences, but no masonry remains above ground. The site is quiet, surrounded by farmland and the occasional orchard. A short walk from the edge of Riedbach brings visitors to the low earthworks. The view stretches across open fields towards the wooded hills beyond. There are no signs or fences, just a gentle slope where the tower once stood. The place feels remote despite its proximity to the village.
