Phipps Bridge

Phipps Bridge is a tram stop on the Tramlink line in the London Borough of Merton. It stands beside Phipps Bridge Road, a quiet residential street lined with houses. The stop has a single island platform with tracks on either side. To the west the line narrows to a single track leading to Morden Road. To the east the double track continues towards Belgrave Walk, where trams can be seen approaching. The stop is worth the journey for its easy connections. Every hour six trams run in each direction between Beckenham Junction and Wimbledon. Another six trams run between Elmers End and Wimbledon, all using modern low-floor models. London Buses route 200 stops here, and passengers may change between tram and bus for free within an hour. From the platform a footpath leads north to Phipps Bridge Road. A gateway on the south side opens directly into Morden Hall Park, a National Trust property with riverside walks and historic buildings. The park stretches along the tram line for a long distance, offering green space and peaceful views just moments from the stop.
