Beinn Bhuidhe

Beinn Bhuidhe is a mountain top reached on the route from Knoydart to Glen Kingie in the Scottish Highlands. Its summit sits at grid reference NM821967 and bears a rocky outcrop. The hill is classified as a Marilyn, Corbett and HuMP, terms used by hill-walking groups to describe prominence and height. The hill’s latest height survey was carried out on 28 October 2001. Organisations such as the Database of British and Irish Hills maintain these lists, checking and updating measurements. Walkers often combine Beinn Bhuidhe with nearby routes to Glen Kingie or Knoydart. On the summit a visitor finds a narrow ridge leading to the rocky point. The view stretches across Knoydart’s steep glens and the wide waters of Loch Hourn. To the north the peaks of the Northwest Highlands rise against the sky. The path from sea level to the top takes most walkers five to seven hours.
