Pfarrkirche Allerheiligen bei Pöls

The Pfarrkirche Allerheiligen bei Pöls is a Roman Catholic parish church in the village of Allerheiligen bei Pöls, part of the municipality of Pöls-Oberkurzheim in Austria’s Steiermark. It stands under official protection as a listed monument. The church is dedicated to All Saints’ Day and belongs to the Pölsental pastoral area in the Diocese of Graz-Seckau. The building’s history begins with a church mentioned in records from 1160, originally dedicated to Saint Margaret. In 1450 it was rededicated to All Saints and rebuilt in the late Gothic style around that time. The tower and outer appearance were given a neo-Gothic look in 1863. Inside, the three-bay nave has ribbed vaulting with heraldic keystones, and the single-bay choir ends in a five-sided apse. Visitors enter through pointed-arch doorways and see stained-glass windows made in 1896–97 by Ed. Stuhl of Graz. The high altar, carved in 1728 by Balthasar Prandtstätter, shows many saintly figures without architectural framing. The pulpit from the same hand features reliefs of the Jacobs ladder and Saint Christopher. An 1884 organ by Carl Billich and a Roman stone relief on the nave wall complete the interior.
