Wegkapelle Stellveder

The Wegkapelle Stellveder is a small Roman Catholic wayside chapel in the parish of Nenzing, Vorarlberg. It stands on the Gamperdona path in the hamlet of Obere Stellveder, about 757 metres above sea level. The chapel is roughly 1.65 kilometres from the parish church of Nenzing as the crow flies. Built in 1696, the chapel was funded by Jörg Burkhmayer, Mich. Gantenbein and Krist. Maurer. In 1904 a benefactor rebuilt it entirely. After recent restoration in 2023, the building remains under official monument protection. The single-storey stone chapel has a rectangular plan and an open wooden porch on its south-west to north-east side. Inside, the altar is set beneath a simple sloping roof. Outside, the chapel marks the start of a nine-station Bible path leading to Kühbruck. Along the route, wooden tablets bear verses from the Psalms, placed to match features of the landscape.
