Sgùrr a' Mhuilinn

Sgùrr a’ Mhuilinn is a mountain top in the Highlands reached along the road from Kyle of Lochalsh to Garve. It stands on a long ridge that stretches north-east from the head of Loch Carron. A small cairn marks the highest point on the summit plateau. The mountain is listed as a Marilyn, a Corbett and a HuMP in Scottish hill classifications. Views extend over Loch Carron and the surrounding hills. On clear days the Cuillin ridge on Skye appears in the west. The mountain’s Gaelic name means ‘millstone peak’, linking it to local history. The path starts near the village of Achnashellach beside the railway line. Walkers follow forest tracks before crossing open moorland to reach the summit. The return route can be varied to include nearby ridges. The area is quiet, with few other visitors on most days.
