North Harrow tube station

North Harrow station stands on the Metropolitan line in north-west London, between Pinner and Harrow-on-the-Hill. The station opened in 1915 after the Metropolitan Railway extended services through the area in 1885. Charles Clark redesigned the station in 1930 as part of a modernisation programme. It has two main exits, though only one is now in regular use. The station won Transport for London awards for best customer service in 2009 and 2010. The station serves trains to Watford, Amersham and Chesham in the northbound direction. Southbound services run to Baker Street and Aldgate, with four trains per hour in each direction. London Buses routes H9 and H10 stop directly outside the station. Routes H18, H19 and 183 pass nearby along Pinner Road. Inside, the station displays artworks created by former students of Nower Hill High School. The area under the railway bridge outside the station used to flood occasionally, but this has been resolved by drainage improvements at Headstone Manor’s recreation area. The station remains a quiet but well-regarded stop on the Metropolitan line.
