Madina Mosque

The Madina Mosque stands in Nether Edge, a suburb of Sheffield in South Yorkshire. It is the first purpose-built mosque in the city, completed in October 2006 after funding challenges. The mosque’s construction cost an estimated £5 million, raised largely by local worshippers. It was built on Glover Road to meet the needs of a growing Muslim population. The centre also hosts inter-faith events, reflecting its role beyond daily prayers. These features make it a key place for worship, learning and community gatherings in Sheffield. Inside, visitors find two large halls used for prayers and events. The library offers Islamic texts and quiet study space. The day centre provides meals and support for local people.
