Galabank

Galabank is a football stadium in the town of Annan, set beside the River Annan in Dumfries and Galloway. It has been the home ground of Annan Athletic since 1953. The club moved there from Mafeking Park after the Second World War. Mid-Annandale and Edusport Academy also played home games at Galabank for a time. The ground has floodlights and an artificial pitch. Annan Athletic joined the Scottish Football League in 2008. Before that, the stadium was inspected and upgraded to meet league standards. The highest attendance recorded was 2,517 for a match against Rangers in 2012. The stadium’s capacity is 2,504. Visitors find a modern 3G pitch surrounded by a small stand. The ground sits close to Annan’s town centre and the river. It hosts league matches and cup ties throughout the season. The atmosphere is modest but friendly, typical of a lower-league club.
